PIPES & FITTING PRODUCTS
Pipes
Pipes are hollow tubes used to carry fluids (liquids or gases) from one place to another.
Common Types of Pipes:
- PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) – Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, used for cold water and drainage.
- CPVC (Chlorinated PVC) – Can handle hot water, more heat-resistant than PVC.
- PEX (Cross-linked Polyethylene) – Flexible, used for hot and cold water supply.
- Copper – Durable, used for water supply and refrigerant lines.
- Galvanized Steel – Strong, used in older systems, prone to corrosion.
- Stainless Steel – Corrosion-resistant, used in high-end or industrial applications.
Fittings
Fittings are connectors used to join pipes together or to change the direction, size, or flow of the piping system.
Common Types of Fittings:
- Elbows – Change the direction of the pipe (e.g., 90° or 45°).
- Tees – Split or combine flow in three directions.
- Couplings – Connect two pipes of the same or different sizes.
- Reducers – Connect pipes of different diameters.
- Unions – Allow easy disconnection for maintenance.
- Caps & Plugs – Seal the end of a pipe.
- Adapters – Connect pipes to different types of fittings or fixtures.
Materials Used in Fittings
- Brass – Durable and corrosion-resistant.
- Plastic (PVC, CPVC, PEX) – Lightweight and easy to install.
- Stainless Steel – Strong and corrosion-resistant.
- Cast Iron – Used in drainage systems.
